1976 marked the beginning of Bill’s career in the landscape industry when he formed the Canon Landscaping Company in Tullahoma, Tennessee. In 1982, he entered graduate school at Louisiana State University and received his Masters in Landscape Architecture in 1985.
By March 1993, Bill started what would become one of the largest and most respected landscape construction companies in the Midwest. The WH Canon Landscape Company has created some of the most recognized, high profile landscapes in Michigan.
Bill was highly respected in the landscape industry by his peers and employees, and he conducted business unselfishly and with thoughtful consideration of his clients. A true testament to Bill‘s character is found within his company. He valued and cared deeply for his employees and colleagues. In turn, most of the employees working for WH Canon Landscape Company today came on board with Bill in 1993. The business successes came with a lifetime of integrity and many years of hard work.
In November 2011, Bill passed away following a sudden and brief illness. He leaves behind his loyal and committed staff; all of whom strive to keep Bill’s company culture alive.
